These are sites we find useful and meaningful. Updated as we find new ones.
New Discoveries.
These are sites we found recently. Each time we update (every three months or so) this list will be different, and previous entries will migrate down into the main categories below.
Veggie Tales -- The on-line home of Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber. (For the uninitiated, Veggie Tales is Christian computer-animated videos with vegetables for characters, and they're great fun.) Some good on-line games for kids, too.
Air Force Images -- High-quality photos of the U.S. Air Force, updated nearly daily, mostly airplanes, with accompanying news and info.
MacFixit -- a troubleshooting guide updated thrice weekly to help with Macintosh software conflicts, viruses, etc.
Promise Keepers Resources -- catalog of PK books, music and products. If you click a CD title, you get a clickable list of songs. Each one plays an audio clip (via the RealAudio plug-in, for fellow techno-geeks).
Shareware Music Machine -- downloadable music-related software. We got free software here, Virtual Drummer, that plays drum parts while we play guitar and bass for our church singles group.
Aviation
Landings -- links to everything aviation-related, including photos.
AirNav -- flight planning tools, including in-depth info on every airport in the country
Christian
Fairhaven Church -- Our church! (note: new web address as of Apr 98)
Dayton Vineyard Christian Fellowship -- our "second" church home. They play rock and roll praise and worship music, and lots of it! We fit right in. Great web site.
Promise Keepers Web Site -- Men Of Integrity. Dan has been to 6 of their conferences in five years, and it has been both humbling and refreshing.
World Wide Study Bible -- an on-line searchable Bible, in 11 versions, with links to associated commentaries and sermons
Bible Study -- a very thorough weekly study by a friend of ours in Ogden, Utah
Stonewallrevisited -- A Campus Crusade for Christ site to help homosexuals who want to leave the gay lifestyle
Alliance Defense Fund -- A national alliance funding the legal defense and advocacy of religious
freedom, the sanctity of human life, and family values.
Focus on the Family -- Practical Christian outreach to homes to strengthen families and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ
Christian Coalition -- A non-partisan grassroots organization dedicated to giving Christians a voice in government again, working hard for common-sense legislation that will strengthen families.
Computer
Ed Yourdon -- my cousin, and the author of Time Bomb 2000, a critically acclaimed book on the potential effects of the Year 2000 bug on all aspects of life, not just computers. You may want to check the info at his site well before 1 Jan 2000.
Microsoft Internet Explorer -- Whatever else you may think of Microsoft, they do make a good web browser. We use version 3.0 for Macintosh.
Elmo Minds the Farm -- a Sesame Street interactive web storybook. The kids liked the story but not the download times. Download it for off-line browsing if you can.
U.S. Air Force Museum -- the oldest and largest military aviation museum in the world--right here in Dayton!
Music
Blue Earth Traditional Arts -- The agency that represents my brother Robin Bullock as a solo musician, as well as several other groups. Well-done site with audio samples, playable through the VivoPlayer plug-in.
OneLook -- on-line dictionary incorporating some 200 different dictionaries
Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) Resources
(Dan has suffered tendinitis from computer overuse--if you feel pain in your wrists or arms when you use your computer, check these sites, and don't hesitate to see a doctor!)
The RSI Page -- information on causes, symptoms, treatment, and prevention from someone who knows from experience
